Grameen Family

Grameen America applies the identical Grameen Model in the United States. While part of the Grameen family, Grameen America has no formal affiliation with other Grameen entities.

Grameen Foundation is a U.S. based nonprofit foundation that helps the world’s poorest people achieve their full potential by providing access to essential financial services and information on health and agriculture that can transform their lives. It also develop tools to improve the effectiveness of poverty-focused organizations. Grameen Foundation's collaborative approach to poverty alleviation recognizes the multidimensional and complex nature of global poverty and it works with cross-sector companies and organizations to ensure lasting impact. Its significant achievements have received outstanding recognition in the BBC and the Stanford Social Innovation Review. Grameen America and Grameen Foundation are independent sister organizations that share the vision of Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus to empower entrepreneurs around the world.

Grameen Bank is the pioneer microfinance organization and community development bank started by Muhammad Yunus in Bangladesh to help fight poverty through microloans. Its successful peer-lending model has been replicated many times worldwide. In 2006 the Grameen Bank and Muhammad Yunus were together awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Grameen Trust is the international outreach affiliate of the Grameen Bank that supports and promotes poverty-focused Grameen style microcredit loan programs all over the world.

Grameen PrimaCare was established to meet the health needs of Grameen America members in New York. Grameen PrimaCare utilizes an innovative, integrated approach to provide Grameen America members with an affordable and comprehensive health program that consists of enhanced primary care, peer support groups, connected health tools and essential support services. 

Grameen Kalyan provides affordable health care services to the rural poor in Bangladesh.

Grameen Shakti is one of the world’s largest and fastest growing renewable energy technology programs established to promote, develop and popularize renewable energy technologies in rural areas of Bangladesh.
